How to become the official service provider of an NFL team
?
In advertisement, I often see companies claim to be the official provider of a particular service to an NFL team.
For example, our company is located in Charlotte, NC. There is a local orthopedic specialist in our area who, in their advertisements and commercials say “The official physician of the Carolina Panthers.”
Our company does parking management, and we get a lot of business from people attending the Panthers games and parking at our local lots. How might we go about becoming “The official parking management company of the Carolina Panthers” (or something along those lines)?
I’ve checked there web site under the parking tab and it lists no “Official Carolina Panthers parking” company.
It depends on the franchaise how this is done. Basically becoming the official partner of a team is a contractual agreement. I am sure the details of each such partnership vary greatly not only from team to team but even with each deal.
A friend of a friend was asked if he was interested in becoming the official caterer of the Washington Redskins. Part of the deal was that the guy had to buy a luxury box — he declined.
You really need to contact the team’s office and ask them.
However, keep in mind that such a partnership will mean more to your company than it will the team.
Therefore, you will have to really give up something in order enter such a partnership — think along the lines of 33% of your companies revenue on game days or something similar.
